So, what does vermeil actually mean?

Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a specific type of gold-plated jewelry. Gold vermeil starts with 925 sterling silver base and is coated with 2.5 microns of gold. And while 2.5 microns may not sound like much, in the jewelry world, it’s a substantial layer of gold.

Think of it as a step closer to solid gold, without the solid-gold splurge. That’s why we love vermeil: it gives you another way to step up your stack.

Why is Sami introducing vermeil?
